Server keeps restarting

I have a problem that has been going on for a while now with my Windows 2K
Server. The server will just reboot itself with no BSOD. The screen just
goes black and then restarts.

I have changed the Power Supply, RAM, NIC and Graphics card but it still
continues to reboot. It can reboot up to 30 times during the day \ evening
even when it is not being used. I am sure it is software related but I
cannot prove it at the moment. There is a long story attached to this
server. Originally, the server was very stable unitl we had a series of
power failures and around the same time I applied some of the Microsoft
Critical Updates. Since that day the server progressively got worse and
started to reboot itself more frequently. We had a new server delivered so
I reformatted the server and re-installed W2K from scratch. For about a
week the server was okay. I didn't have one reboot until I applied the
Blaster Worm Patch. Now the server is rebooting. The event log shows
nothing but a 6008 error (unexpected shutdown) I have IIS, Exchange2K, ISA,
DNS, OWA and McAfee NetShield installed, all with the latest Service Packs
except for W2K which is SP3. Other than uninstall or stop each service one
by one, I don't know what else to try. Could it be a software conflict that
is causing the server to reboot or would you suspect a hardware failure? I
am going to leave the server on in safe mode tomorrow to see if it will
remain up?

Any suggestions welcome.

If your computer boots normaly in safe mode i dont think
its a hardware problem. This happened once when i
isntalled pcanywhere 9 on a windows 2000 machine and was
realated to the video card. You can try reseating things
inside your server by taking cards and wires out and
putting them back in for the hell of it. If you can get
in safe mode start disabling services one at a time and
try booting in normal mode.
