Server extensions Nightmare

I cannot get a hit counter to work on my web and I am unable to have the
information that I enter into a form submit the data to a database. The data
gets lost somewhere. I have reinstalled the server extensions, then I tested
the extensions through IIS and everything checks out. I have even extended
the extensions to the proper web site and made sure the indexing service is
running. So now i am really stumped.

do you have ASP enabled - required for the database functions.
