Server busy

While working on a web site locally, I get a message box titled "Server Busy"
and the message: "This action cannot be completed because the other program
is busy. Choose 'Switch To' to activate the busy program and correct the
problem."
This message came 3 times and everytime I had to close Frontpage in Task
Manager. Can you help ?

Using Firefox by any chance? I've been getting the same error. I've
searched the Knowledge base on the term 'server busy this action cannot
be completed' and get thousands of articles, none of which are
relevant.

There is no reason for FP or Webserver to even care that I have another
browser open since I haven't even added Ff to the list of browsers to
preview. I was just trying to load the fp editor.

FP is even crying about the manage bookmarks window and this browser
window i'm replying in.

I was considering upgrading to FP 2003, but ms is ending support for FP
in 2008.

The successor app appears to be an attempt to impose ms's vision of the
net on folks even though ms is nearsighted.

About all you can do is to continue the three finger salute (ctrl alt
del in task mgr).

i've spent about an hour trying to find an answer instead of being
productive.

Good luck.

No, I'm using Internet Explorer. Do you get the same error with Firefox ?
With the next version of Office, there should be a new version of Frontpage
also, no ?

So Frontpage 2003 is the last version of Frontpage ?

FrontPage has not been included in office for quite some time, even though
it is considered part of the office "family".

Latest Plans for the future of FrontPage
(Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer 2007 and Microsoft Expression Web
Designer )
were announced at:

It doesn't seem to be related to Firefox. After closing it, the error
message said the problem was with 'the program'. All I had open were a
couple of text files, so I had to use the 3 finger salute. I reopened
it and the problem didn't reoccur.

I'm using IE mostly for previewing, since IE has about 80% of the
browser market. Firefox does nasty displays. If you set a background
to watermark, Firefox ignores it and repeats the image.

The version with Office 2007 will be the last:

"Microsoft will close the book on its FrontPage Web-design program with
the release of Office 2007, formerly known as Office 12, late this
year. "

http://blogs.pcworld.com/staffblog/archives/001460.html

As long as I can recalculate hyperlinks and correct broken links across
an entire web, I don't care if it goes away. Killing FP would probably
only happen If web hosts stop offering FP enabled hosting.

Since MS is implementing Office Live, there's a good chance that'll
eventually happen.
