serious problem???

hi plz can anyone help,i followed what i thought was easy
steps to remove programmes on startup from the task
bar,but when i shut down my pc and later returned all my
isp dial up info had gone,i typed in msconfig then run
and removed only programmes that i knew from the system
config utility (startup)
i tried help and support but i got the message . windows
cannot open help and support because a system service is
not running.
i checked all the services and they are all checked
although..
application layer gatew......stopped
windows auido ...............stopped
computer browser.............stopped
symantec event manager.......stopped
symantec password vali.......stopped
com+ system application......stopped
logical disk manager.........stopped
logical disk manager ad......stopped
remote procedure call........stopped(it says this is
essential)
all the above are still checked,i tried to dissable all
and enable them again and got the message to restart but
still nothing,thaqnkyou for any help here

What did you follow? In the meantime, this is the proper way:

Check for an option to not having the icon load in the System Tray via the
program(s) in question.

Other options for removal:

Go to Start/Run and type in: msconfig. Go to the Startup Tab and uncheck
accordingly. Then run this script to remove the disabled items from the
registry.

what i did was..start/run typed msconfig went to startup and unchecked
programmes (3) that i knew .when i knew i had a problem i returned and
checked them all again thinking this would sort the problem,and now i cannot
connect to the internet,hope this helps.thanks
