SERIOUS error with XP, possibly a hardware problem.

Hi, a few months ago a encountered a serious problem with
my computer. The hard drive (I think) would emanate loud
clicking noises, and then shortly after my computer would
crash. When restarting, the same thing would happen again
and for a while I could not even get into windows. On
boot it was not detecting my hard drive at all. After
turning my computer off for a while, and then turning it
on again I was able to get back into windows, but it was
only a matter of time before my computer would crash
again. I got a number of blue screen error messages after
my computer crashed, which quickly restarted the system,
but they would not come all the time. In a calm spell
when my computer wasn't crashing I managed to back up
everything. I then proceeded to run all the diagnostics I
had (Norton utilities etc) Miraculously after doing
everything I could, my computer seemed fixed, and the
problem ceased for months until now. Today, for no
apparent reason it is all happening again. I installed
nothing new, and have done nothing out of the ordinary. I
had always suspected it was my hard drive failing on me,
because it is an IBM deskstar, and they have a bad rep.
I'm not sure what to do though, besides run more
diagnostics when it isn't crashing. The last time it
crashed today, I got a blue screen before it restarted
itself. The error message
was "Kernal_stack_in_page_error". After getting back into
windows the xp error pop up had this info:

C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini090203-01.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\--PH0E~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER1.tmp.dir00
\sysdata.xml

BCCode : 77 BCP1 : C000000E BCP2 : C000000E
BCP3 : 00000000
BCP4 : 010BE000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 1_0
Product : 256_1

I still think it is my hard drive, but im not so sure. I
am running an AMD athlon 1.4ghz proc, 512 ddr ram, IBM
40g Deskstar HD. I am not sure when it will lock up
again, but in that time I am looking for any help I can
get. Thanks for your time.
