Serice pack 2 is still partially loaded after non-destructive rest

I had a 1394 card problem and a TECH at HP had me do a non-destructive
restore to my machine. Well needless to say it has been a nightmare to get it
back operating correctly. I had service pack 2 installed before the restore.
I now have everything back running and all updates up to service pack 1. I am
ready to reinstall SP2 but I can't. Internet Explorer still thinks it has SP2
installed. The windows firewall and security icons are still loaded on my
machine. When I check the windows version it only list SP1 as installed.

Also when I do windows update through IE it trys to use the windows update
associated with SP2 whch stars off "v5.windowsupdate.com" but I can only get
updates through the web with "v4.windowsupdate.com". I have ordered the disk
for SP@ from Microsoft to try and reload but any advance help would be
welcome.

You could try a manual uninstall of sp2 from Recovery Console, and then
update to SP2 again.
