serial port allocation problem

Stefan

On our embedded system the bios settings for the serial
ports are 3E8/IRQ4 for COM1 and 2F8/IRQ3 for COM2. When
using Windows XP Professional the same settings are
verified in the device manager.
In Windows XP Embedded the two ports are swapped with
settings of COM2 for COM1 and vice versa. A manual change
of the settings results in a resource conflict an a reset
of changes after second reboot.

Does anybody know why XPE swaps the ports and how this
problem can be solved? Thanks for any help - Stefan

COM1 Should be 3F8.
3E8 Is COM3 when using bios.

Try changing in BIOS 3E8 -> 3F8.

Hi, I tried changing to default assignments too but XPE
still uses the settings for COM2 in COM1 and vice versa.
