Operating systems and other serial numbers are pasted on the bottom of my
laptop. Some of these are already starting to curl over and get damaged.

What is usually recommended to do with these pasted serial number stickers?
Should one remove them and place them elsewhere, since theft of the laptop
would take them with the laptop? Just copy them? Photocopy the bottom of the
laptop? What do the experts recommend?

Whatever is convenient for you Jeff. Just make sure you have access to those
numbers when you need them.

Hi,
you must keep all these records. These are absolutely necessary. This
tells that your operating system is genuine [Certificate of Authenticity
(COA) label attached].

More to the point, where whoever steals the laptop does not :-)

The important thing is to keep a note of them in a safe place. Of the
machine's model type and serial number for any warranty or support from
the makers, and of the Windows Product Key (the 25 characters in groups
of five) in case you want to reinstall
