Hi

Using a serial cable to connect a Win98SE (server) and a WinXP
(client) computers, it is not possible on the Client, to see the
shared folders that are setup on the server. The connection seems to
be done, as it is shown in the Client (XP) utilities.

It is probably (!) a configuration problem on the server, but...

Txs !

Why are you using this kind of connection ?
Buy 2 NIC cards (for less then $10 each) and use an ethernet connection.
If you don't want to open the computers you can use an USB ethernet card
(They ein't expensive too)
