i was wondering how does the serial ata hard drive differ
from the standard hard drive is it what all pcs are going
to and is it better than the standard hard drive ?

This is easy! Most current PC use parallel ATA (PATA) and need the fat 80
pin IDE cables. Serial ATA (SATA) use a differnt type of cable, which is
smaller. Therefore, with SATA you will have better air-flow inside the PC
case. Also, most PATA drives top out a Ultra 133 access speeds and SATA
will/are getting faster.
