SEPTEMBER 2003, CUMULATIVE PATCH

I guess I screwed up...

Recieved the apparently fraudulant "September 2003,
Cumulative patch "...
Installed it..
After rebooting, a message appears " Error occured"
memory access violation in module kernel 32c 4228-23445421

Then, when trying to open outlook...
Message : windows cannot access spcified device, path,
file
you may not have appropriate remission to access the item

I do run Norton anti-virus, but somehow this got through

Can someone PLEASE HELP an "appreciative novice" get
rolling again ?
