Seperate Outlook Email account File

My laptop crashed but my hard drive survived intact. I have it in an
external drive usb case. I want to use our desktop with my outlook files. I
can open the .pst account with my emails just fine. But the email account
file is the one from the desktop. How do I get outlook to use the one on the
external drive ?

A pst-file is just a storage location; it is not an email account. You can
configure an additional email account on your desktop PC via Tools-> Email
Accounts

The e-mail accounts defined in Outlook are stored in the registry, not
in the .pst file. Just define the account in Outlook, the instance
you are running on your desktop computer.
