Sent 'On Behalf Of' inconsistency

I am using Outlook 2000 SP3, and when I send on behalf of someone it shows up
in the sender field as 'From: my name On Behalf Of sender'. But, when my
colleagues send on behalf of the same sender is just shows up in the sender
field as 'From: sender'.

Please can someone tell me why they are different, why my emails show up as
'On Behalf Of' but others don't?

Thanks a lot. Andy Eagles

Because some users have not just Send On Behalf permission on the mailbox, but the more powerful Send As permission. Only the Exchange administrator can grant Send As permission, not individual users.

Thanks Sue. I have access to Active Directory and Exchange System Manager
(MS Exchange Server 2003), but cannnot find the Send As setting. Is the Send
As setting only available in the previous versions of MS Exchange Server?

Thanks. Andrew Eagles

It's a key permission in all versions. On the user's record, look on the Security tab. You need to have View | Advanced Features turned on in the ADU&C snap-in.

Thanks Sue, you are a star. I hadn't looked on the Security Tab of the
User's account, but now I have found it. Thanks a lot. Andrew

Does anyone have fix for this when sending on behalf of a public folder? If I
log in on one machine my emails are sent from MyName on behalf
PublicFolderName and on another machine they are sent from PublicFolderName
on behalf of PublicFolderName.

Thanks

Chris.
