Sent msgs going to Outbox

I'm using Outlook 2003. It used to be that when I composed a msg and hit
"Send" (in the msg window) it would send the msg.

After a re-installation, when I hit "Send" the msg goes into my Outbox and I
then have to hit the "Send & Receive" button (in the main Outlook window) to
actually send it.

Any suggestions on how to get it back to the way it was?
 
Hallo,

I do not have an Outlook 2003 here at the moment but it should be the same
option (probably at a little different location) as in 2007.
There it is "Options" - "Mail-Setup" - "Send immadiately when connected".
