Multiple Msgs Transmissions

OL 2007 - In the last couple of months I've sent two diff msgs to two diff
individuals and they both rec'd a total of 279 msgs from the one msg I
intentionally sent them.

Does anyone have a clue as to why this happened? I check my SENT box and the
msg shows up only once. I used same procs I always use for sending msg.

TIA

Did the message have an attachment?

Yes, in both cases if I not mistaken.

Did it get stuck in the Outbox? It's a common problem. Computer has an A/V
solution installed that plugs into email and scans all outgoing mail, preventing
Outlook from thinking it actually managed to send the email, so it retries.
And retries. And retries.

That kind of A/V isn't really necessary. If the file is infected, its sitting
on your hard drive and would have already been caught, or the real-time scanner
would have caught it.

For opening emails, when you try to open it, the realtime scanner would catch
it.

Try removing any email plugins for the a/v solution you're running.
