Sent Items Moved but "NEW"

I like having all emails sent and recieved together as I view by
conversation. I've set up a rule to move a copy of all emails to the Inbox.
However, the rules don't allow you to mark these as read.

SO: whenever I send an email, I have it in my Inbox but it's "new".

Anyway to mark these as read once they've arrived in the Inbox?

Make a diff folder or subfolder of Inbox for this mail. Don't use the Inbox
itself. Inbox is not suitable for storage.
