sent items folder

I would like to auto delete mails from my default sent items folder by using
rules wizard, however, I was only able to "move" a copy of emails to
alternate location without automatically deleting the one stored in the
default sent items folder... any ideas how to do this pls?

Just set Outlook to empty the deleted items folder on exit.....

You can't use a rule (except a manually run rule) to delete an item unless
it's being received or sent. Use AutoArchive to do what you want.
Right-click the Sent Items folder, select Properties, click the AutoArchive
tab, select the "Archive this folder using these settings" radio button,
select a value for "Clean out items older than", and click the "Permanently
delete old items" radio button. Click OK.
