Sensitivity setting and syncing with third party apps

Whenever we try to sync Outlook 2007 with a third party app (ie iPhone &
MobileMe) the events show up but do not have a sensitivity level defined.
Apparently a lot of PDA's leave this sensitivity level blank. Its good that
the events sync with this one machine. But the problem we have is that when
we try and sync this Outlook machine with another in the office the events
without a sensitivity level defined will not sync unless we manually set the
level to Normal (or some entry other than blank). Is there some way to make
all events that show up in Outlook default to Normal so that the ones that
arrive by being synced from a third party app are not blank so that all
events and entries always sync with the other machine(s) in the office? We
do not wish to have any events not sync (ie no confidential or private
events). TIA ...

Which method of PC-to-PC synching are you referring to?
If you mean sharing folders, setting the permission to also allow the other
to see private items might solve it.

The issue is with the synching software not setting the needed fields in
Outlook. See if updating the sync software solves the issue or contact the
vendor of the sync software to report the issue.

Okay, thanks. We will double-check with the third party vendor that
developed the Outlook syncing software (we are not on Exchange here).

We contacted them first and they were actually the ones that pointed out the
Sensitivity field to us and stated that if that field is blank for those
events that are not syncing its because of the PDA the event was created on
does not support that attribute. They said that once we manually set that
attribute from blank to Normal within Outlook it will work - and sure enough
it does. So we were just hoping that there was some way to automate the
process to set all messages as Normal.

Thanks,

When I mentioned "synching software" in the second paragraph, I actually
referred to the synching software for the mobile device. Sorry for the
confusion.

If both don't offer a solution, then you'll have to look into using VBA to
set the sensitivity property for those items automatically.
