Sending video on net

Hi All

I want to be able to send video clips up to around 10 MB (DivX,Mpeg1
whatever) to friends but file size overloads most email services when
attached to email. I used zip program that comes with XP Pro but doesn't
seem to reduce size that much.Things like Yahoo "briefcase" share files only
up to 5MB.Is there a simple way to do this?

Greetings --

A few ways to do it. (1) pay for webspace (2) If it's not copyrighted
material just use KaZaA Lite or any other P2P application. (3) Burn it too a
CD and mail it. (4) Setup an FTP or web server for them to download the
files from you (ask your ISP first if they will allow this)

Or use a program like hjsplit to break the video up into smaller pieces.
Who ever you are sending the video to will need the same program to piece it
back together.

Re option 1) and 4) I will check with my ISP.I think option 4 is the way to
go as far as I understand these things.I have heard of things like web
hosting (is that what you mean by "pay for webspace" and FTP servers but am
very ignorant about them.How is web server different from web hosting?Do you
need special software eg FTP client or something?I am keen to pursue this as
it would be an ideal arrangement whereby I could have a password protected
'storage facility' and provide a hyperlink to those I want to have access
for download purposes

Thanks ,this is a good option too.Is the program expensive or is there a
freeware version?I would need to send files to different people so couldn't
expect them all to buy expensive software.
