sending third party mails via MAPI

On my file server I have MS Office 2000 with SR-3 installed. While I was on
SR-1a my Backup software (Veritas BackupExec) could send me reports mails
using the MAPI protocol via the installed Outlook profile. Since the upgrade
it doesn't. When I try to generate a test mail from within BackupExec I get
a popup saying "A programm is trying to send email on your behalf...". The
help function tells me that a programm is trying to use the VB function
send.mail. Obviously a security patch from MS is the reason for this.

Has anyone got any idea how I can disable this "feature" ?

Greetings
Markus

Veritas has to update their software to use Extended MAPI or a 3rd
party library like Redemption. I'm surprised they haven't already, the
security has been around for a few years now.
