Hi,
I sent an email via Internet Explorer. It envoked Outlook to send the email
using an account that is defunct. Now, it keeps trying ang trying to send it.
It absolutely will not stop! Like the Terminator.

I can't see the email in the outbox or anywhere else.

Where is it!

How can I stop it please?

Cheers,

R.

Open Outlook and delete the defunct acct. and select a real acct as the
default. To delete the stuck email, select File in Outlook, Work Offline,
shutdown OL, restart & delete it from the Outbox if you can. If you can't,
look up "stuck email" in OL Help. If you don't want IE to use OL, change your
default email program in Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options,
Programs.

Thank you Mary.
Problem is, even though the account is no use for sending, I still need it
for receiving.
I tried the "work offline" idea - the mail is not in the outbox.

If it's a read receipt, you won't see it in the Outbox. See this:
http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/deletereadreceipt.htm

You can configure Outlook's send/receive groups to make an account
receive-only or send-only. While viewing the Inbox, press Alt-Ctrl-S.
Select your send/receive group (likely "All Accounts") and click Edit.
Select the account you don't want to be sending and uncheck the "Send mail
items" box. Click OK, then Close.

Perfect!

Cheers mate, all sorted.
