sending/receiving email errors

I have windows vista and use windows mail- I get this error message
constantly. I have to click on the send/receive several times before I can
send and receive- even after the tasks have been completed- the message still
appears.

Server Response: '-ERR Cannot connect to POP server 68.1.17.2

I don't see anything wrong with your settings.
The DNS lookup is working because it's correctly translating
pop.east.cox.net to IP address 68.1.17.2. It looks like the mail server is
not operating properly. About all you can do is complain to Cox, or
read your email via webmail when the problem exists.
