Sending problem related to cached mode in Outlook 2003?

Dear group,

I've been supporting Outlook 2000 in the past for a couple of time in the
past and I have now mostly Outlook 2003 users. On a couple of occasions
(sometimes in conjunction with a migration from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange
2003 sometimes not) I'm only able to solve the problem that mails get
stuck in the Outbox (of the server folder - not in a pst - in Outlook) by
disabling the Cached Exchange Mode. At the same time receiving mails
doesn't seem to cause any problems. However this practice is discouraged
by our customer.

Do you have any explanation for why this didn't happen in a scenario with
Outlook 2000 & Exchange 2000 (only if the default delivery location was a
pst)? Is there any other fix than disabling the cached mode?

Thanx in advance,
Sandor

Are these upgrades or clean installs? Does it work correctly when you
recreate the mail profile?

Answer for question 1: From experience I know that the majority of the
mail clients have been upgraded from OL2000 (should be around 80% at
least)
For question 2: I'll have to check this. At this point I don't have the
answer.

Thanks for your reaction.
