After I scan a photo on my Canon "Canoscan N 124OU" it
will appear on my screen. (My computer is a Dell
Dimension 4600...purchased recently)
The picture will "save" the photo in "my Documents"...but
from there it will not respond to the AOL "insert
picture"...keeping me from being to able to send it out
via Email...
Other Data:...Microsoft XP...AOL 9.0...What do I need to
do?

Most likely, the scanned photo is not being saved as
a file type that AOL recognizes. At least by default.
Make sure you save the scanned photo as a '.jpg' file.
Also, keep in mind that depending on the size of the
photo and the resolution in which it is scanned, the file
size could be huge, and not all appropriate for e-mail.
Even with high-speed internet service, most people
don't appreciate a million+ byte file being dumped into
their e-mail account. ".jpg" files can be compressed
to minimize their file size, although you may need a
photo editor to compress the file.

check on the size of the photos and the file extension. they may be a
canon proprietary format that is huge.

after scanning, save them as JPG. this will make them readable by all
your recipients and compress them to manageable size.
