Sending messages to users

Hey,

When our fiber line was down we were unable to send e-mail
messages.

I wanted to send messages from the server(DC) using the
MSG command at the command prompt. Not much success, the
error message would be the user does not exist or is
disconnected.

Anyone else run into this?
