Sending emails over 1mb

When I send messages over 1mb, no matter what format, the message remains in
my outbasket and continually sends the message. I receive no acknowledgement
that it has sent the message. Short message with no attaachments or under 1mb
not a problem. Can anyone advise how to fix this problem. I readjusted the
timeout within Outlook, but problem remains.
 
Probably your ISP or mail administrator has limited your account to sending
messages of less than 1MB in size. You should inquire of them about it.
