sending email

I am getting my email from cox onto my laptop. I have setup windows mail as
far as I can tell correctly but...Whenever I try to send a email i get the
folowing error:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'test', Account:
'pop.west.cox.net', Server: 'smtp.vzmail.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Look at the outgoing (SMTP) server name...
why is it smtp.vzmail.net when you're on Cox?
Shouldn't it be smtp.west.cox.net ?

No I am using a verizon ps2 card for my laptop broadband connection.
In order to recieve email I use pop.cox.west.net
In order to send I use smtp.vzwmail.net

Many internet providers block connections to port 25 if your connection
to the server crosses from one internet provider's equipment to another's
along the way. This is intended to cause trouble for spammers.

Also, there's both a smtp.vzwmail.net and a smtp.vzmail.net on the
internet. Make sure you're using the correct one.

Ok, I'm not familiar with that....
but in the error message, there is no "w" in the server name

You probably should call Verizon for support.
I don't see any obvious Windows Mail issue.
