It seems there's quite a few problems with VISTA Windows Mail
outgoing mail

Similar problems-similar error messages

HAS ANYONE FIGURED OUT THE PROBLEM ???

Gary VanderMolen seems to have a handle on it
I'm sure it's a minor fix if we knew the answer

Please help-

There isn't just one problem. There are many different problems, most of
which are caused by the user entering the wrong mail server settings.
If you would like some help with your specific problem, right-click on
your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

This just started happening to me today and I've tried all of the suggestions
from Windows Mail. Nothing works. Here is the complete message that I
received...

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'Prickett's
Fort performance', Account: 'cebridge.net', Server: 'smtp.cebridge.net',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.1 relaying denied', Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

As a possible easy fix, try this first:
Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Servers.
The box for "My server requires authentication" must be checked.

If that was already checked, or there is no improvement, the reason
for that error is that the Cebridge.net server is objecting to the fact that
your are connecting from an Internet connection not provided by
Cebridge. Were you on a laptop away from home?
