Sending Delayed E-mail

C

coolblueshot

Greetings,

Is it possible to prepare an e-mail and have Outlook send it on a
scheduled date and time? Does it matter that I use Outlook on my
company's server? What steps do I need to take to make sure my e-mail
is sent? For example, do I need to leave Outlook open or for that
matter my computer on or does the e-mail stay on the server until that
date and time?

Thanks!

Yes. When you compose the message, click View>Options (in the Outlook
editor - I don't know where to find it if using the Word editor) and set the
delayed delivery there.

What do you mean you use Outlook on the server? Outlook doesn't really care
what type of machine underlying it except that it should not be run on a
machine that also runs Exchange.

See above.

With Exchange as the server, if you have the Excahnge mailbox set as the
delivery location, you do not need Outlook to be running when the delivery
time comes. If you use a PST as the delivery location, then you will need
to have Outlook running.

When using the word editor, right click on the toolbar and select "email"
and an email toolbar will be up. The option button is there. I am not
connected to any servers, I don't think it will make a difference
