How would I send from E://My Documents to C://Program Files and vice versa?

Would the same method apply for other destinations?

I have WinXP Pro with SP2.

Thank you,

First, note that both names are wrong. You mean E:\My Documents and
C:\Program Files. Backslash, not forward slash, and double slash, not
single.

There are many ways to do this. Here are two ways:

1. You can drag and drop from one to the other.

2. You can select the file(s) in the From folder, and press Ctrl-X (cut),
then put your cursor in the To folder and press Ctrl-V (paste).

Would the same method apply for other destinations?

Yes.

Ugh. Sorry, that's "single slash, not double."

Why can I immediately see such an error when I read it, but miss it
completely when typing it?

You are right about the spelling. However, there were TWO backslashes. Now
perhaps the change was made to WinXP and/or Windows 2000, but before then
there were two backslashes.

Thanks. I just needed copy to (F5) and move to (F6) after highlighting the
file.

Nope, it's always been one backslash, going back to the earliest days of
DOS. Perhaps you are confusing this with the two forward slashes in URLs, as
in http://www.microsoft.com

I think you're right. Perhaps I got the "://" from URLs, as you write?

You're right. However I think in the old days (± twelve years ago) there
were two backslashes.

Nope. Never.

Some times there are two backslashes. But only if you are connecting to a
shared folder. ie \\Fileserver\sharedfolder.

But that just being perdantic
