Send To Word sends slide objects, not jpgs

I'm using "Send To Word" to get my slides and speaker notes to a Word
document for further editing and reformatting. The slides are sent as
"slide objects"; this results in an enormous Word file size. Is there a way
to get "Send To Word" - or some similar function - to send jpgs or some
other image style?

I will also ask this next part on m.p.word.vba.general:

If I can't send the slides as other than slide objects, is there a way to
convert them, programmatically, to jpgs?

Thanks,
Bob

Do you have the option to convert your Word document to PDF? That will reduce
the file size.

Bob,
Two things you can try that might help:
1)When using Send to Word, always check the link box. Then, when you are
done making changes you can use Word's Edit--> Links to break the links.
This will shrink the file size considerably.

2) Look into Bill D's Slide into Word Add-in:

This is by design.

You can do a File|Save as and choose JPG in the "as type" drop-down. Then
import the JPGs into Word.

If your slides have lots of text, I'd suggest EMF or at least PNG for the
Save As type, though. In my experience, JPGs tend to make PPT text look
really jagged and awful.
