When I select a photo to send to a contact, the dialog box offering various
sizes of picture pops up; I select the resolution I want, and click ok.
Outlook does NOT come up with a new message with my pictures already attached.

Hi Scott,

Click Start, select Default Programs
Click Set program access and computer defaults
Click Custom, and select Microsoft Outlook
Click OK

Then, follow these steps:

Click Set your default programs
Select your mail client from the list
Click Set this program as default
Click OK

Thanks all who replied. Unfortunately, it doesn't help. When I click "attach"
the dialog says (very quickly) "preparing to send" and disappears. Though
Outlook 2003 is my default mail handler and is always up and running, I don't
get a new message screen. I CAN open a new message and attach the photo(s)
manually and everything works just peachy, except that I now have a HUGE
message if I have more than one photo attached. I could reduce the size
manually on all the photos I may want to send, but this is just a kludge.

Open Internet Options
click programs tab
make sure Outlook is listed as your default email program
click apply/OK

See if repairing Microsoft Outlook installation helps.
