Is there a way to use the <file><send to word> and send as a grayscale
presentation? It exports in color, and I can't print in color - need it
in grayscale. (I need a print layout that PPT does not offer)

you mean here that you want to print it as a grayscale on the word? well, i
think that you'd do these steps:
-go to file menu
-print
-properties, it'll open you a window showing you the printer's
properties...then choose the thing which is related to colors and choose
black and white

OR-if you want to make a picture in a greyscale you'd do that from the
picture toolbar (the two buttons which look like black and white circles)
wish it works,
yours faithfully,
farah

In PPT 2003, you can no longer send to Word in grayscale. It only sends the
color stuff. :(

I suggest you look into Bill D's Slide into Word add-in. It is a better
version of Send to --> Word, and lets you do grayscale as well. More

Thanks to all....

I have the demo noted above and tried it already - it is not the PPT
grayscale - which really adjusts all colors so that the slides are in
b/w, and text is readable, and seems to drop out the background - the
"normal" grayscale for lack of a better word is REALLY grayscale and the
slides are shades of gray, and some are unreadable due to white text.

I want to make a printable w/notes copy of my presentation (not just
one slide /page as in PPT ) so the "send to word" seems the best approach.

I hear you, Bob. Believe me, I hear you. (And MS has heard me complaining
about this for a long time, too!)

This feature was removed in PPT 2002 (aka PPT XP). You'll need to find a
machine with PPT 97 or 2000 on it to do your Send to Word in B/W.

On that machine with 97 or 2000 on it...
Make sure you're in normal edit view (not slide sorter).
Make sure you're in black and white view (View/Black and White).
If your machine has 97/2000 *and* a newer version of PPT, you'll need to
make sure that you select Paste Link when you do the File/Send to Word. If
you only choose to Paste when sending to a newer version of Word, your slide
thumbnails will come out in color. Choosing Paste Link from PPT 97/2000
opens Word 2002/2003 with slide thumbnails in black and white.
