Send/receive issue

I have a new Notepad that I wish to use only when travelling. I use SynchPST
to transfer the important filed e-mails on file in my desktop to the Notepad
prior to such travel Because of spam and other reasons I tend to get 200+
e-mails per day that mostly go to the junk folder, so my problem is that
even if I reduce the "remove from server after "x" days" down to 3 or 4 days
only, my notepad still wants to download all of these e-mails on my server
when I do the first send/receive search when I use the notepad. This clearly
takes a lot of time and except for the most recent e-mails I will end up
deleting all of them from my inbox or junk mail folder anyway. Is there a
way in which I can set up the notepad (Outlook 2003) so that it will only
download the e-mails that have come in that same day. Hope that the above is
clear.

Nope. POP doesn't work that way.

If your ISP has web access, delete mails from there first.
PS You might want to consider moving ISP's to one that has built in spam
filters, or check you current ISP to see if they have such

Thanks for the suggestions. I guess that I will at least keep the days down
to a minimum to keep e-mails with the server - this may help some. I am too
leary about ISP spam filters as I have had the experience that they still
tend to filter out some e-mails that are important to my business that I
cannot afford to lose; thus, I still have to wade through the junk mail
folder more than I like.

The comments are appreciated.

Personally I log on to my ISP web mail a couple of times a week and check
the spam folder, there has only been a single email bus. sender that has
been consistantly diverted to the spam folder, why I dont know since I've
added them to allowed.
When I suffered from I assume a compromised pc that contained my mail
address my ISP spam filters were diverting 500+ mails a day from my outlook
mail downloads, currently less than 10 mails a day get through the ISP spam
filters

Thanks for the suggestion. I was hoping to be able to skip this step (going
to the ISP web access site), but it seems to be the only alternative. As
much as I would like to "up" the security level on the spam filter, I am
afraid that I might miss some key e-mails that still get mixed in with my
junk mail incoming files.
