Send/Receive Button does not work

I have just started using Windows Mail on Vista 32 bit, both installed the
manufacturer. There is no reaction when I push the Send/receive Mail Button.
It is only when I exit the program and I am asked if i want to send the
messages left in the outgoing box and I confirm, that the message goes out.

Where is the problem?

Click on Tools, Accounts, your email account, and Properties. If there's
no check mark on the box before Include this account when receiving
mail or synchronizing, click on the box and then Apply. Click on OK then
close
and then Close.

Click on Tools, Options, and Send. If there's no check mark in the box
before Send messages immediately, click on this box and then Apply.
Click on OK.

no check mark on the box

Yes there is indeed. The problem is that the Windows Mail sometimes does
send and check my mail account, but generally it fails.

I guess this problem has to do more with Windows Vista safety protection
system.

This does not work either :(

What shall I do? I am looking towards Linux, but I have heard that Vista
blocks Linux from being installed on the same PC. Is it true?

No, but you'll need to have another partition on your disk to install
it in if you don't want the installation to erase Vista. Be careful
when installing Linux - it's easy to tell it to use the whole disk by
mistake.

Which if any antivirus programs do you have? Some of the popular
ones such as Norton, McAfee, and Trend cause problems in
Windows Mail, although seldom immediately. Some of the others
need to have a custom install that leaves out the part for
scanning email to avoid problems.

Most of us here can't read Polish. Can you give us the gist of that discussion?
In my experience, your issue is caused by an incompatible antivirus.

originally i had Norton, but then i changed to www.arcabit.pl , which i knew
and trusted, but the problem continued. So it was not a matter of the
antivirus program.

Happily someone from the Microsoft Poland (Daniel Stawicki) suggested that
if i had Toshiba i should deinstall Smsdesktop program. I have done it, and
thank God the problem is solved.

As I understand Toshiba sells the Windows Vista with Smsdesktop program
which conflicts with Windows Mail.

Thanks for the feedback.
