I can open windows mail and receive email on 2 different email accounts. I
can send test messages on each email account. This is true with or without
the antivirus/firewall enabled. I can use send all or receive all seperately
from the toolbar but if I click on send/receive all I get an unknown error
(no details). This error will come up even if I delete either account. Any
ideas?

Which antivirus are you running? Some of them are not fully compatible
with Windows Mail.

Morning...Where can I go to make my Outlook work? I have been trying to send
but there is an error on the server...

Currently, I am using an F-secure product that I support for work (can't beat
free). We have thousands of users with Vista and this one is 64 bit
compatible. I am not aware of any issues with Vista mail and this av/fw.

I have not heard of a definite compatibility issue with F-Secure.
However, that particular problem has been associated with antivirus
interference. The only thing I can suggest is to do a trial uninstall of
F-Secure, just to see if it is the culprit.

Another option is upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less
prone to suffering bad effects from overly aggressive antivirus programs.

Either way, email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for
reasons explained here:
