Send outgoing message to folder other than sent, when sending?

I'm using Outlook 2003 SP1. When I send a message I want to be able to
specify which folder I want the outgoing message to be placed in - other than
the sent items folder - at the point when I send the message. In MH this used
to be called Fcc: - folder carbon copy. You simply typed the name of the
folder into the Fcc: line just as you used the cc: and Bcc:. This would save
a huge amount of time refiling stuff in my sent items and stop me keeping so
much rubbish. PLease help someone - or please help Microsoft. This could save
thousands of hours a year for people.
Thanks very much

From your post, I can guess one of two things...

1) You are not aware that you can select the Options button from the toolbar
and specify the folder you want the item to go to when its sent or...

2) would prefer a prompt at time of send. (outlook doesn't do this.)

Hi Sue,

I like this feature and added it to my Outlook. But I have one thing to ask.

I added a Message Box when the user hits cancel and would like to change
this to an automatic save of the sent message to the "sent items" folder so
if I cancel, Outlook works like it usually does . I am not familair enough
with Windows calls to figure out how to do this call. What code would I add
at this point in your code to save the message to Sent itme if I hit cancel?
Thanks
Ted

Is there anyway to make the dialog box come to the top of the screen? RIght
now, it is under the original and compose emails - a pain.
Thanks

Thanks Neo, I knoew about option 1, but it's awfully clunky when you want to
do it with most emails sent.
Thanks anyway
