Send immediately

Hello,

I'm switching from outlook express to outlook 2003. I know they aren't
the same at all. But I'm looking for some option that I think should
be available on outlook but i just can't find it.

I have winzip installed on my system and when I right click on a file
I have the option "Zip and email ...". Now when I do this in outlook
express, it sends the mail directly even when outlook express was not
open at the time of the zipping. I'm trying to achieve the same with
outlook. The problem is that outlook places the mail in my outbox but
doesn't send it. If outlook is not open, this means the mail won't be
send at all.

So I'm looking to send my mail directly when it arrives in my outbox,
no matter if outlook was open at the moment of the zipping or not. I
tried (translated from my dutch copy) "Options", "Emailsettings" (2nd
tab), "On connection send immediately" but that just doesn't seem to
work. I guess outlook thinks it's not connected for some reason.

Any ideas,

Yves

That is the setting you need to enable to send immediately. Is outlook open
when you attempt to send? It needs to be... sometimes repeating the zip and
email command will load outlook long enough to send the first message.
