When I right click to send a file I no longer get option of sending to Mail
Recipient. Only choices which come up are: blue tooth, zip folder,
documents, fax, memory stick, dvd, H drive. Can you tell me how to restore
this option.

Try this: go to Default Programs, which you can access
either from the Start menu or the Control Panel,
then click the first item: "Set your default programs."
After a few seconds a list of programs comes up.
Click on Windows Mail. If all is well, it will respond
"This program has all its defaults."
If it reports less than all (3) of its defaults, fix it by selecting
the first option indicated by a green arrow.

I did as you said. Defaults were properly set. I tried again and still don't
get the option of send to mail recipient when I right click on a file, as I
did before.

Create a zero byte file named

Mail Recipient.MAPIMail

in your SendTo folder.

but u still have no option in the send to menu

You mean none of the entries are listed in the Send To menu?

Are you able to access the SendTo folder of your user account?

There are all of the other options, such as send it to the desktop, my
cd writer, removable disk and do on. But there is still no mail
recipient. Have tried all of the above options.

And yes i can view my Send To folder and all of the options are there
including the Mail Recipeint.MAPIMail. I am using thunderbird,
although i don't think this will make much difference

It does make a difference if Thunderbird doesn't support that
function. I suppose Thunderbird is your default email program.
Your question should be asked in a Thunderbird user forum.

Tom,

Did you run a registry cleaner lately?

I was able to restore the email recipient and even have it default to
Outlook. Thank you. But now I would like to know how to restore the fax
option. Before I lost both email recipient and fax, when I wanted to fax a
document from a folder, all I had to do was click on it and efax would take
over. Now I have to load efax and then use file\open and go to my documents
to retrieve the file.
Is there a way to restore fax as well? Will reinstalling the efax software
do it?
Any known reason why the sendto file was corrupted? The only thing I did
recently was to install a USB bluetooth device. It now appears in the
sendto. Could that have corrupted the file?
Thanks for any and all your help

I have a similar problem. If I right click in explorer I get the option
to send email - no problems - all working fine. However, in excel, if I
click on the office button and then send, I only get the option to send
as a fax. I don't get the option to send as an email. I do have
windows mail set as my default mail system. Any ideas pleeeaaaasssee?
Mucho appreciated.

Go to the HELP option and look up "send to"
the instructions are there, but it add the tool to your quick access tool bar not the the "send to" in the General menu.
