send and receive???

Why when I open Outlook 2003 does it not automatically do a send and
receive?? I have to manually click the send and receive button on the tool
bar.
 
Check your Send/Receive settings under Tools->Options->Mail Setup. If you
have an automatic polling interval set, it will do a send/receive on
startup.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
