send and receive does not work

Downloaded Office 2003 and everything (excel, word,etc) works except Outlook
2003 which opens but does not show my folders and when I hit the send/receive
button, it says " cannot find"
All of the email settings are checked and verified.
MacAfee virus protection is on.

Any ideas?
