Semaphore Timeout Period has Expired

Hey, I have an XP SP2 desktop that I am unable to get on to the network with
due to the following error:

YOur Computre was not able to renew its address from the network (from DHCP
server) for the networ card XXXX. The following card occured: The semaphore
timeout period has expired. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an
address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

This would suggest a possible problem with the network card in the PC or in
the network cabling or hardware between the PC and the DHCP server, or
possibly that the PC is not configured correctly for the network you're
connecting to. Can you give us more details about the problem, when and how
it started, and your network's configuration?
