"Selection" highlighting in Explorer/Mail etc

Colour-blind, have severe problem identifying the "selected" line in Vista
lists (mail message list, file lists, etc) Neither the transparent colour
(against white background) nor the very pale lines are visually clear to me.
Didn't have the problem in XP.

Is there a global setting(s) change, to alter either the background colour
of the selection (to yellow, which I can see) or to embolden the selection
box lines to a solid black or other dark colour?

Wish MS (and many web designers) would recognise that 48% of UK males (only
2% females) are to some extent colour-blind, and design progs/pages with
contrast. At least one on-line sale has been lost because the vendor
couldn't provide a clear print of the goods specs. They were in a
microscopisc pale blue font, to me. illegible. ( increasing the page size
didn't help, the dpi was so low the text just disintegrated ).

Unfortunately, I don't think that is a configurable setting. There doesn't
seem to be much available under Programs | Accessories | Ease of use either.

I couldn't either. XP is visually far better in this respect .
Vista "improvements" are an active deterrent for colour-blind users!
Wonder if Windows 7 will be any better?
