selecting other account doesn't change sender detail

I'm using outlook 2003 in exchange mode with an additional pop3 account in
the profile. When I send a reply to a message recieved via pop3.smtp or
sending a message and selecting the 'pop3/smtp' account outlook sends
standard exchange details instead of those in the pop3 settings. This it
seems is by design.

I have reverted to using a indepentant email program to protect my privacy.
