Selecting multiple files

I am running Windows Media 2005 and have a peculiar problem with regard to
selecting files. I often, in the past, have selected multiple files in a
folder by clicking the first file, hold shift key, click last file in
sequence and open or move all as a group. When I try that on this computer
the cursor acts if I am dragging from the first to the last selection and
often starts with the first file in the folder not where I clicked initially.
Is there an option somewhere where I can control this? Hope this is clear
enough 'cause it is hard to explain. I also cannot select noncontiguous files
using the control key + click.

I would try toggling the option for single versus double-click selection in
the folder options. Go to start/run, and type: CONTROL FOLDERS

I would change the setting, apply, test, change, apply, test, and change
again, apply, test.

Thanks a Lot. That did the trick. I can't figure out how that got changed
without me knowing it.
