Selecting files of a particular type to restore from backup

Hi - I want to restore a Microsoft Publisher file from a backup, but can't
remember the name. So is there a way to select all *.pub files to restore?

David,

Using what backup software?

In Symantec Backup Exec you can use the restore tab, browse to the directory
in question & look through there. You will then be able to restore that file
providing you still have it on that media

with your question worded the way you did, the answer is NO!
many other files without the .pub extension are required in order for it to
run.
it's best to use your restore function of whatever backup software you used
and restore that program, not just the individual files, it's a good bet if
you try to restore individual files you will miss something important.

Since *.pub files are project/document files I see no reason why you can't
simply restore all *.pub files from your backup.

I will assume that any images are "embedded" so you would not need to
restore any image files that are "linked" to the *.pub file.
