Selecting document with footnotes

I am trying to select an entire document including its footnotes. It will
only select the document text but not the footnotes. Is there a way to
select both?

I hit Ctrl+A to select all

Although the footnotes may not appear to be selected, if you have included
the footnote reference marks in your selection, the footnotes will be
included if you Copy.
