Select the From Address

My Exchange Server is setup to receive e-mail for multiple domains (abc.com
and xyz.com). Mail sent to (e-mail address removed) and (e-mail address removed) go to the same
mailbox. The default reply address is (e-mail address removed). How can I give user1
the ability to be able to send out e-mail as (e-mail address removed) when he wants to?
Having a separate mailbox for (e-mail address removed) would be too cumbersome. It
needs to be a simple solution, since it is for the boss.

Currently, we are using Exchange 5.5 and Outlook 2000. Do I need a newer
version of Outlook? I am planning on upgrading to Exchange 2003 later this
year.

Thank you.

Victor -

Thank you. I looked at your web page and under the FAQ, you say:

Q. I am running Exchange 5.5. Can I use your ChooseFrom product?

A. You need to install ChooseFroml on a separate Windows 2000/2003/XP
machine and forward outgoing mail to the Windows SMTP service on that
machine.

Can you provide me with some more information on how to this?

Thank you.

You need to run separate Windows 2000/2003 server with SMTP service enabled
(SMTP server). This server is responsible for sending and receiving Internet
email. You need to install ChooseFrom on that server.

Your current Exchange server must forward all external SMTP email to the
SMTP server for delivery. See MS article "How to Set Up Windows 2000 as a
SMTP Relay Server or Smart Host"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;293800&Product=exch2k
for details.

Thank you for your help. On your web page, you say to use "a seperate
Windows 2000/2003/XP machine and forward outgoing mail to the Windows SMTP
service" Below you are saying a Windows 2000/2003 server. There no way to do
it with Windows 2000 Pro or Windows XP Pro?

Jim,

I bag your pardon - certainly you can run Windows 2000 Windows 2000 Pro or
Windows XP Pro on the SMTP relay machine.
