"Select names" sort order

J

JRS

No matter what I have tried to do, I cannot get
the "select Names" to change its sort order from first,
last name to last, first.

I assume there something that I am missing. Would
appreciate help/pointer.

Using Outlook 2003

Thanks....JOHN

OK....it appears that I can get "Select names" in
Last/first sequence if I go into Contact Options and
define 'Default "Full Name" order' as last/first. Which
then makes all the names displayed, including the name
appended to the email address with this sequence....which
is bass-ackwards....at least for US standard usage.

It appears that, if "select names" does not have it, it
needs the ability to separately sequence by last/first or
first last....not based on how the names are shown....just
as you can independently sequence the contact
folders.....or, at least, have the Select names be in
the "File as" sequence.

If this is not a part of Outlook 2003, how can I formally
submit as a suggestion for improvement?

Thanks....JOHN

I did that.....it does not seem to change the "Select
Names" order. The only thing that seems to change it is:

Tools>Options>Contact Options>Default Name order>last,
first

.....which then effects the order of the names when
displayed with the email address.

Appears I "lied" I had to totally remove and readd all
the contact items. They now sequence properly.
