Hello All,

I am using Outlook 2003 with Windows XP Pro. My current view is sorted by
"File As" and default file as is "Last Name, First Name". The problem I am
having is the Contacts are displayed in an inconsistent manner.

For example, all of the contacts display as Last name, First name in the
current view, but some of the contacts when opened will display First Name
Last Name while others will display Last Name First Name (no comma). At
first I thought I had miss-keyed the first and last name, but when I click
the "Fullname.." the names are in the correct fields. The Select Names
popup window exhibits the same behavior. So to find John Smith, he may be in
the "J's" or he may be in the "S's".

My Outlook data file was started back with Office 97 and has been upgraded
through several version of Office. I am also sure that I have changed
default sort order several times during the past years. So my question is
how do I get all the contacts to display in the same order.

Thanks,

John

Many thanks,

There were two articles on the slipstick site that solved my problems.

Thanks again,

John
